One of the goals of the VoiceAmerica Internet talk radio show, Heart to Heart with Anna, is to help listeners find resources that will be helpful to them. Along those lines, we will be updating this page on a weekly basis as each show airs and new resources are discussed on the radio show.

Episode #1 – You Are Not Alone

http://www.babyheartspress.com is a website that has resources for the congenital heart defect (CHD) community. Specifically there are books of essays by mothers, fathers, grandparents and survivors of congenital heart defects in the books Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome: A Handbook for Parents, The Heart of a Mother and The Heart of a Father.

http://www.congenitalheartdefects.com is a website with over 100 free pages of information for the CHD community. There are links to support groups, hospitals treating CHDs, foundations and organizations pertinent to the CHD community and much, much more.

We also recommend you check out YahooGroups, Facebook and other social media platforms. There you will find groups specific to your needs. Just type in the keywords you are most interested in and you will be amazed at how many different hits you get.

Check out the link to the Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Quilts in the Advocacy section of this website. That is yet another way to recognize that you are not alone AND a way for you to volunteer to help spread awareness of congenital heart defects.

Our Miracle Moment in Episode #1 was from The Heart of a Mother. To read Judy Norwood’s entire piece, go to http://www.babyheartspress.com/heartofamother.html to view the Table of Contents and then click on Introduction.

For even more resources, please visit:  http://www.congenitalheartdefects.com/ where you will over 100 pages of free information for the CHD community, including a multitude of resources.
