Episode #2: Rainbow Babies: Pregnancy After Losing a Child to a CHD, 6/3/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Bereaved Heart Moms Sheri Turner and Ashley Halligan discuss what it’s like to lose a child to a congenital heart defect while hoping for a healthy baby after such a trauma.

Episode #3: Failure to Thrive: Oral Aversions and Nutrition for CHD Survivors, 6/10/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Mom Danielle Leppo and pediatric dietician Kristi King discuss the diagnosis of Failure to Thrive and why some babies and children with congenital heart defects suffer from oral aversions and poor nutrition and what parents can do about it.

Episode #4: Dealing with a Long Hospital Stay, 6/17/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Mom Callie Rickard, CHD Survivor Alex Jaworski and Certified Child Life Specialist Lynn Davis discuss issues involved when dealing with a long hospital stay and how parents and patients can be empowered to endure the uncertainty of any hospitalization.

Episode #5Sports and Boys with Critical Congenital Heart Defects, 6/24/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Dads Kenneth Utz and Tommy Jackley and CHD Survivor Richard Utz discuss their experiences with sports growing up, the teams they are huge fans of and what it’s like to grow up knowing it’s not possible to play sports like heart-healthy boys can.

Episode #6: How Military Families Deal with Having a Child with a Congenital Heart Defect, 7/1/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Moms Chelle McIntyre-Brewer and Andrea Quirk address issues of importance to military families raising a child with a congenital heart defect, including important organizations that can help parents negotiate the difficulties with insurance and getting proper care for our medically fragile children.

Episode #7: Gastrointestinal Issues and Feeding Tubes in the CHD Community, 7/8/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Mom Christie Saunders and Clinical Psychologist and Feeding Therapist with NoTube discuss the complexities of having a child on a feeding tube and the importance empowering parents regarding weaning a child from a feeding tube.

 Episode #8: Adult Congenital Heart Defect Survivors Finding Love, 7/15/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: CHD Survivors Jeni Busta and Lauren Bednarz, as well as spouses Nick Busta and Chris Bednarz discuss what it was like to find love and concerns that most people have regarding loving someone with a critical congenital heart defect.

Episode #9: Breastfeeding Your CHD Baby, 7/22/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Moms Amelia Willis, Lauren Watson, and Breastfeeding Expert Marie Biancuzzo discuss success stories and frustrations with breastfeeding a baby with a congenital heart defect. Our Expert Guest will debunk common myths surrounding a mother’s ability to breastfeed a baby with a congenital heart defect.

Episode #10: Working Dads versus Stay-at-Home Dads, 7/29/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Dads Michael Madson and Chris Perez discuss the pros and cons of staying home or going back to work when a family has a child with a congenital heart defect.

Episode #11: Babysitting and Daycare for CHD Survivors, 8/5/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Moms Amy Bennett, Adinamarie Pelicci-Alsina and Dawn Silverman discuss strategies and experiences in leaving a CHD survivor in a daycare situation or with babysitters. We will discuss things to look for in a daycare or babysitter and how to best prepare everyone involved for a good transition.

Episode #12: School Issues: Bullying, Parent Advocacy & Making Schools Safe for CHD Survivors, 8/12/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: CHD Survivor Megan Perkowski, Heart Mom Nancy Jensen and Special Education Advocate Lisa O’Connor discuss bullying of CHD survivors, strategies for overcoming bullying or ways to prevent it and, most importantly, how to make the school environment safe for our CHD survivors.

Episode #13: Making Memories Everyday, 8/19/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests: Heart Moms Kathy Baker, Dawn Silverman and Marie O’Donnell discuss ways to make everyday a special day. From inexpensive and fun rituals to special ways of celebrating holidays or other special occasions, we’ll talk about how to do it with heart.

Episode #14: Adult Survivors on Pregnancy or Starting a Family, 8/26/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guests (TBD) discuss special considerations that must be undertaken for Adult CHD Survivors when they decide to get pregnant or start their family.

Episode #15: Special Guest Appearance, 9/2/14, Anna Jaworski (Host) and Guest, Author Bret Baier, discuss how becoming a CHD Advocate has been life-changing experience and what each of us can do to be better advocates for the heart community.
